Who We Are
Citizens for the Minnehaha Creek Corridor (CMCC) is a group that formed out of a desire to be involved with the neighborhoods and communities touched by the Minnehaha Creek. The creek winds 22 miles from Gray's Bay on the eastern edge of Lake Minnetonka to the Minnehaha Falls and the Mississippi River. Our goal is to work with individuals and groups to keep Minnehaha Creek and its recreational areas green and vibrant.
Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Citizens for the Minnehaha Creek Corridor is to serve as a citizens’ group dedicated to helping people experience, understand, advocate for, and appreciate the Minnehaha Creek resource.
Creek Clean Up in partnership with REI, Leinenkugels, and the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District was a huge success!
Sunday July 13 more than 100 volunteers came out and braved a very windy day to clean up the area around Lake Hiawatha and the Minnehaha Creek. CMCC would like to thank all of our partners in this event; REI, MCWD, Leinenkugal's, and Silouette Events. The volunteers pulled bag after bag of trash out of the water with two people even filling canoe with trash! Stay tuned to this webpage for our next creek event.
Canoe the creek!
Canoe season is here and there is an updated Minnehaha Creek Caone Route and Watershed map. These maps are available at outdoor retailers in the Twin Cities or thru the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. www.minnehahacreek.org or 952.471.0590.
