Who we are

Citizens for the Minnehaha Creek Corridor (CMCC) is a group that formed out of a desire to be involved with the neighborhoods and communities touched by the Minnehaha Creek.  Our goal is to work with individuals and groups to keep Minnehaha Creek and its recreational areas green and vibrant.  We plan and organize creek cleanups, informational outings, canoe trips and more!  We also strive to be an advocate for the creek and a source of information about issues related to the creek.

Our Mission Statement

The Citizens for the Minnehaha Creek Corridor is dedicated to restoring natural habitat and improving recreational opportunities on Minnehaha Creek through community involvement, education and advocacy.

In order to ensure that these and other activities are a success we need your help.  Come to a meeting and lend your voice.  Get involved in your community and join the Minnehaha Creek Citizens group!

About the creek

Minnehaha Creek is a tributary of the Mississippi.  It winds 22 miles through the cities of Minnetonka, Hopkins, St Louis Park, Edina and Minneapolis.  The creek starts at Gray's Bay at Lake Minnetonka and meets the Mississippi just beyond the spectacular Minnehaha Falls.  You can walk or bike along side the creek through the Minneapolis section and you can paddle almost the entire distance of the creek as well.

For information on paddling the creek or to get canoe route maps, visit the canoe route website at the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District.
